RCGC Open

Sunday 18th August 2024

It was a fantastic day at the Club for this years Open and with a full tee sheet from 8am – 4pm, it was great to hear such positive feedback from those coming off the course.

The high winds ensured that scoring was tough, and Rowallan lived up to its Championship standard. Thank you also to all the members that took part and volunteered on the day, without your assistance the day would not have been what it was!

Ladies Summer Shield 2024

Saturday 17th August saw the 3rd edition of the annual Ladies Summer Shield, contested by a record number of ladies taking part, with defending champion Lori Darroch looking to make it a hat-trick of wins. A mainly dry afternoon saw some outstanding golf played by all the ladies on a fantastically well prepared course and full credit and thanks goes to David Clark and his greenkeeping team for this in what must have been some really difficult weather last week.

Big thank you George and Louise for the great prizes and thank you to all the staff in the Glasshouse for the afternoon gathering afterwards.

Massive well done to the eventual winner Alison Finlayson with a fabulous 21 points beating Elizabeth McConnell who finished 2nd on 18 points.

Longest drive at the 7th was won by Morna Ronnie.

From all at Rowallan Golf Congratulations Alison and very well done ladies!

A massive congratulations to Andrew Duncan on becoming this years Club Champion after a hard fought match against Richard Morris that finished 3&1

With some great golf played by both players throughout, Andrew remained steady all round and holed a couple of crucial putts when required!

For Richard it ‘wasnt ‘to be this year but if the last two years are anything to go by it wont be long until we see his name on the coveted trophy

Thanks also to Blair Taylor for the superb on course updates to the members Facebook page and to David Clark and his team for presenting the course in such fantastic condition
