Saturday 17th August saw the 3rd edition of the annual Ladies Summer Shield, contested by a record number of ladies taking part, with defending champion Lori Darroch looking to make it a hat-trick of wins. A mainly dry afternoon saw some outstanding golf played by all the ladies on a fantastically well prepared course and full credit and thanks goes to David Clark and his greenkeeping team for this in what must have been some really difficult weather last week.
Big thank you George and Louise for the great prizes and thank you to all the staff in the Glasshouse for the afternoon gathering afterwards.
Massive well done to the eventual winner Alison Finlayson with a fabulous 21 points beating Elizabeth McConnell who finished 2nd on 18 points.
Longest drive at the 7th was won by Morna Ronnie.
From all at Rowallan Golf Congratulations Alison and very well done ladies!
Huge congratulations to Rhonald Milton on coming out on top to win the Gents Senior Club Championship, with a total score of 167 enough to take this year’s title. Excellent golf over two days.
Congratulations to Ronnie a thoroughly deserving Seniors Club Champion and we now look forward to celebrating your victory at the end of year dinner and presentation evening.

With some great golf played by both players throughout, Andrew remained steady all round and holed a couple of crucial putts when required!

We have been allocated Hole number 10 for this years Open Championship (please see below Hole Map) and I know that you are all excited as to the colour of Jacket for this year, well, it`s Brown and Hugo Boss.
We are in the final preparations for ensuring an effective role within the Open Marshalling Team and as you will see from the attached Map, there are two crossings to deal with on our hole. We will also need 15 Marshals per shift (early and late) to cover Sunday and Monday and 24 Marshals per shift to cover Tuesday to Sunday. At this time we have not been given the specific time that we should be at our hole to start Marshalling (as we are hole 10, we will be slightly later than the first nine holes) this time will be given closer to the briefings as well as anticipated finishing times.
Kevin and myself can now get together to complete our Rota, car share etc which we intend to have ready before the briefings.
Hopefully everyone has now completed their portal registration and are looking forward to the security briefings that are planned for the 18th of June at Rowallan Castle 7pm. If anyone cannot attend the Rowallan session, but can attend another club, then please let me know. Also, in the unlikely event that you cannot make any of the briefings, please let me know ASAP so that I can contact the Marshals Team.
